VT Cosmetics (Reedle Shot)

VT Cosmetics is a Korean skincare brand run out of Seoul that sorts its catalogue by named technology rather than by skin type: Reedle Shot for the spicule essences, plus PDRN, Cica, and Air Cloud for sun care.

Reedle Shot runs as a graded series — 100, 300, 700, 1000 — and VT prints the numbers as a ladder within its own range rather than as a published concentration. Reedle Shot 100 is a 50ml evening essence; Reedle Shot 300 carries a 43-ingredient list including niacinamide, adenosine, propolis and four centella actives: asiaticoside, madecassoside, madecassic acid and asiatic acid.

The PDRN line gets more specific. VT publishes PDRN Essence 100 as a 30ml, 32-ingredient ampoule and lists sodium DNA at 0.5ppm, drawn from mountain-cultivated ginseng. The 300ml Cica Mild Foam Cleanser carries the same four centella actives.

Three are worth unpacking: how to read the graded numbers, sodium DNA at 0.5ppm, and the centella actives in both lines.

Start with the graded numbers. Read them as an internal ladder: they tell you where a product sits within VT's own range, which is exactly what you need when choosing between them. The spicules underneath are real: microscopic silica structures that lodge in the stratum corneum and open transient micro-channels, mildly exfoliating and helping the next step absorb. That is surface work, not the dermal injury a clinical needling device causes. The micro-derma booster below is where we'd start: hydrolyzed sponge, the spicule material, is confirmed in its list.

Then the 0.5ppm. Sodium DNA at 0.5ppm works out to 0.00005 percent of the formula, and VT prints it plainly rather than burying it. The source is worth knowing too: VT's nucleotides come from mountain-cultivated ginseng, a plant-derived route that suits anyone avoiding animal-derived ingredients, where the term PDRN more often implies a salmon origin. Read a PDRN product on the whole formula rather than one line: the sheet mask below puts its sodium DNA with nine peptides, niacinamide, adenosine and panthenol.

The centella actives are the quiet workhorse: four isolated fractions of centella asiatica, a calming base under an exfoliating step — and because spicules speed surface turnover, calming and daily sunscreen both matter more here. The cica cream below does that calming job directly, on centella leaf water at 55%.

For VT's Reedle Shot 100 and 300: in the evening, on a freshly cleansed bare face, press an appropriate amount in with the fingers rather than rubbing, then follow with a moisturising step.
