Dasique

Dasique is a Korean colour cosmetics brand run by Dasique Inc. of Gangnam-gu, Seoul. Its own statement of intent is floral: inspired by flowers that bloom and wilt in the course of nature, it says, it cultivates the true beauty in you. The range is organised by where it goes — eyes, lips, cheeks, face and tools.

Eyes are the anchor. Its Eyeshadow Palettes run from nine shades to twenty-four, each built as a complete look — base, shading and highlighting tones plus what the brand calls multi-sized glitter, on a velvety formula it describes as buildable and non-creasing.

Cheeks work the same way. The Blending Mood Cheek quads are sorted by undertone, the warm set described as four warm brownish-pink shades for warm-toned skin, finishing velvet with no fallout. Its Shine Glowy Highlighter Palette is a melting-jelly texture the brand says gives a dewy glow without fallout, and its Juicy Dewy Lip Tint is an oil-infused formula for shine without tackiness.

Three claims are worth testing: what no fallout is really about, what a melting-jelly texture changes, and why the sets are split by undertone.

Fallout first, the most useful thing on that list. Fallout is loose powder dropping onto the cheek while you work, and it comes down to how finely the powder is milled and how well the binder holds it. Less of it means easier placement. The blush below is finely milled matte with minimal fallout for that reason.

The melting-jelly claim is about texture rather than pigment. A gel-and-powder hybrid softens on contact before it sets, so it follows uneven skin, where a pressed powder sits on the surface and catches on anything raised. The two Luxe Glow shades below use that prism gel-and-powder base with fine translucent pearl, which is why they read as sheen rather than sparkle. What they do not do is hide texture — shimmer draws attention to it.

Undertone is the honest one, and the reason the sets are split. A pale champagne can read ashy on deeper skin. Of the two shades below, Shine Beige is the warm-leaning one and Pink Light the neutral.
