LANEIGE
If an overnight lip mask, a sleeping mask, or a toner that doubles as moisture brought you here, this page covers what LANEIGE claims about those three formats and what we'd send for each.
About
LANEIGE is a Korean skincare and makeup brand, sold in the US by AMOREPACIFIC US Inc., built around hydration for skin and lips. Its ranges are named for the job rather than the ingredient: Water Bank, Cream Skin, Bouncy & Firm, Perfect Renew and Glaze Craze, plus the sleeping masks for face and lips.
The brand puts its specifics on the individual product pages, mostly as named complexes. The Water Sleeping Mask runs on what LANEIGE calls a 3x Hyaluronic Night Blend — three forms of hyaluronic acid it names as magnetic, hiper and cross-linked — with squalane, niacinamide and ceramides beside them. The Cream Skin Milky Toner is sold on Korean Micro-Blending, which the brand says folds a jar of cream and a bottle of toner into one lightweight texture. The Lip Sleeping Mask leads on a Berry Fruit Complex, over shea butter and coconut oil.
Three of those are worth unpacking: what three forms of hyaluronic acid actually change, whether one bottle can replace a toner and a cream, and what a lip mask is really doing overnight.
Recommended
Hyalcica Total Moisture 10D Toner
theralogic$764.6 (124)
For the hydrating-toner job, and a mild-acid one at pH 4.5 to 6.5. Ten sizes of hyaluronic acid with a centella complex, madecassoside, panthenol and adenosine, in a watery texture that absorbs without tack. Press it in with your palms rather than wiping.
Vegan Kombucha Tea Sleep Mask
Dr.Ceuracle$244.5 (53)
The sleeping mask we send. Kombucha extract carries the hydration and bakuchiol does the renewal work overnight, so you wake up smoother as well as softer. Shea butter, coconut oil, squalane, niacinamide and ceramide NP sit underneath. Apply generously as the last step at night. Best suited to dry skin.
Hydrating Night Lip Mask
INSTEAD$254.7 (18)
The overnight lip mask we send. Eight forms of hyaluronic acid do the water-holding while shea butter, camellia seed oil and apple seed oil build the film that keeps it there. Apply a thick layer at bedtime and wipe or absorb it in the morning. Fragrance-free and colourant-free, and it doubles as a daytime balm.
Worth it?
Take the hyaluronic blend first. The three forms differ in size and in how they're modified, on the rationale that different sizes settle at different depths, so a mix hydrates more evenly than a single form. It is sound formulating, and only half the job: a humectant still needs water underneath and something over it to hold. The toner below runs the idea to ten sizes with a centella complex to keep it there. An overnight mask does the sealing half, and the kombucha sleeping mask below adds bakuchiol for renewal on top of it.
Micro-Blending is a texture claim, and on texture it delivers — a milky toner genuinely feels like both steps at once. Whether it replaces your cream depends on your skin: for oily or combination skin in humid weather, often yes; for dry skin it will leave you short. The 10D toner below is a watery, layerable one rather than a milky one.
The lip claim needs the least hedging. Lips have no sebaceous glands, so they can't make the oily film that slows water loss everywhere else, which is why a watery product vanishes from them and a waxy one lasts. The Berry Fruit Complex is the antioxidant story; the butters and oils are what keep water in. The lip mask below is built the same way, on shea, camellia seed and apple seed oil.
We don't carry LANEIGE itself. For each of these jobs, though, we send an alternative we rate highly — the three picks below.
How to use
For LANEIGE's Cream Skin Milky Toner: pat or spray it onto skin after cleansing, layering it for more hydration, and reapply through the day for a refresh. For the Water Sleeping Mask: after your face cream, apply it evenly across the face, leave it on overnight and rinse it off in the morning. For the Lip Sleeping Mask: apply generously before bed, and in the morning a thin layer to prep lips before the rest of your lip routine. The picks above run in that same order.

Questions
What does a sleeping mask actually do overnight?
Mostly it slows water loss. A thicker, more occlusive layer keeps the steps underneath damp for longer, and sleep is the longest undisturbed stretch.
Why do lips need a different product from the rest of my face?
Lips have no sebaceous glands, so they can't make the oily film that slows water loss elsewhere. That's why watery products vanish and waxy ones last.
Does hyaluronic acid in several forms work better?
For even coverage, yes — different sizes settle at different depths. It still needs damp skin underneath and something over it to seal.
Can a hydrating toner replace my moisturizer?
For oily or combination skin, often yes, especially in humid weather. For dry skin it will leave you short of an actual cream.
How often should I use an overnight mask?
A purely hydrating one is fine nightly. If it carries an active such as bakuchiol, start with two or three nights a week.
